Powering Up Your Village
At Canadian Villages, we love building Lemax villages. But all those batteries, cords and power adapters? Not quite as much!
The good news is that powering your Christmas village is easier than you might think. And there's a really cool Lemax product that makes it even easier!
NEW! CONTROL YOUR VILLAGE WITH A REMOTE!
Imagine turning on your Christmas village without crawling behind the display or reaching under the table! The Lemax Remote Control Box (54521) lets you power multiple compatible buildings and lights from one central system, with a remote to turn them on and off. No more reaching behind your village every night!
COMMON LEMAX POWER QUESTIONS
Can I stop using batteries?
Absolutely! Many Lemax pieces that run on batteries can also use a compatible 4.5V power adapter. It's one of the best upgrades you can make.
Can one adapter power multiple buildings?
Yes! Lemax makes 3-output adapters that can power up to three compatible pieces, provided you stay within the adapter's power capacity.
Can I use any power adapter?
Not necessarily! Most newer Lemax pieces use 4.5V, but older pieces can have different requirements. Always check before plugging something in.
What about older buildings with traditional light bulbs?
Lemax has LED lighting options that can help modernize many older buildings. They're also great for reducing power consumption.
OUR FAVOURITE POWER TIP
When we first started building our family village, it took about 10 minutes just to turn everything on and off! We eventually switched to adapters and a power bar, and it made a HUGE difference.
We've shared what we learned, including how to reduce cords, replace batteries and light multiple buildings, in our blog.

NEED HELP POWERING YOUR VILLAGE?
We're Lemax collectors too, and we've spent years figuring out what works (and what doesn't!). If you're confused about adapters, lights or how to power a particular piece, just send us a message. We're always happy to help!
